Indiana Jones (1993): version Redux 2.6r

Hi all,

Can't stop myself including my favorite pin here: Indy! Already politely asked Groni and JP to include this pin in their to-do list, I can't wait to see Indy get the JPG treatment, that's gonna be awesome!

But back to business: my official record stands at 4.175.892.560, 2x eternal life wizard mode (beat only 1 , 2nd time only 1 switch left!), probably around some 10 extra balls from the dreaded, bug-ridden PoA and rollovers and *drum roll* actually beat Raven Bar at "level 2", that was crazy! Anybody who saw Choose Wisely at level 2 will know what I mean.

Disclaimer: I have to add though that I consider the "superball buy-in" as a regular feature of the game, so I didn't adhere strictly to the no-buyin rule. I had some heated vpforums.com discussion about that, some people favoring my point of view. I guess it's really in between regular buyins and game features.

Unofficially I even got above 5.000.000.000 one time, but then the stupid ball got stuck on the PoA and I had to abort the game. This kept me from playing this pin for a while, I can tell ya! Well, let's post a picture to boast:

If that's your first try then I fear my 4.1B won't survive long...especially because I find Jive's mods are harder to play (much faster action in general, "narrow escape" at right drain much harder to do), only the mode start is easier to reach from the right flipper and the chance for a gamekilling bug is also lower. Because I played the real machine a lot, I know that the redux version is still closer to it although it's a bit slower. I'm at work now, but I will send you the redux version per attachment when I get home tonight. I'll now have to try to stay ahead in the hunt for the high score, so it's back to Indy for me! Great!

Hi Hanson2,

I tried to "fool" the servimg hosting option in accepting the zipped indy table renamed as jpg but it didn't work. I can't upload it to vpforums.org (it seems that you have to have special permission to upload tables). So I was thinking that you probably should PM me with an email adress that accepts an attachment of about 5MB (zipped). Ok?

Thanks for the head-up, but I was aware of it. Even -unofficially- playtested a bit for Jive and Destruk! The 2.7 mod is coming nicely along, but there are imho still some things to iron out before it can replace 2.6r for me!

Hi friends! I tested now all my versions of Indiana Jones! The best for me is the Jive V.2.4! Sorry slam23, the redux version is to slow and sometimes the ball goes through the flippers ! But I have a new high score with the Jive 2.4! Not much more as the last one,but more !

Really? You prefer 2.4 over redux? I get the slow argument, but I haven't had ball through flippers problems with this table at all. Good score though, a little satanic flavor to it .... I'll fire up 2.4 again to compare it myself. Let's just say that we acknowledge each others high scores on this table regardless of version? Agreed? It's probably fair when we get to play on our own favorite version of the same table, and although some differences are quite large, every table has a balance of plusses and minuses that probably weigh out in the long run. Let's hear your opinions!

Dear great indiana jones champion slam23,

i tested the new Jive 2.7 version but:

bad flipper settings, problems with the last letter of "The Path of Adventur(e)" i cant hit the last letter, i hit the "e" letter some times but nothings happens. How can i get the billion points if i cant hit the shit last letter.

Thanks for the compliment! I'm not sure which table is harder 2.7 or 2.6 redux. I also think the flipper settings of 2.7 are really bad, but they also make the mode saucer shot really easy and that's a killer way to build up points and reach wizard mode. I guess I didn't notice a problem with the "e" until now but I haven't played 2.7 that much to notice a pattern with that anyway. The 2 times I got wizard mode I couldn't complete them for a billion and I remember that also had to do with not hitting those ADV-URE targets, I'll have to watch for that "e" the next time, thanks for the tip. I'm more hang up on the "narrow escape" gate that suddenly became 2-way! I lost more than a few balls while only catching them on the right flipper. Normally they would just go up the right inlane and come down again, now they roll through that gate into the outlane! Also the "Well of Souls" multiball is affected by this because of a busy right inlane, balls get pushed through the gate when there are too many there! And nudging for a "narrow escape" has been ridiculously difficult anyway! I have posted my gripes about 2.7 on the vpforums.org site (the support topic for it) but haven't seen a respone yet. I'm still going with 2.6 redux for now because that's in my comfort zone, I hope they upgrade 2.7 with better flipper settings (maybe we should ask Groni to offer his services!) If you don't have 2.6 redux I could e-mail it to you if you want, just let me know!

i have also the 2.6
redux and the flipper setting are much better but i think 2.7 looks a
little bit better. The problem with the gate on the right lane had i
too, very bad thing. Hope Jive can fix that.
